John and Orenthal sit down and geek out with illustrator/actor Arne Starr and Gamer's Haven Podcast host Ethan Parker about the rich history of the DC Comics animated universe.  Plus, Jay Smith makes a guest appearance at the beginning of the episode and then disappears.  Let us know what you think of the episode in our forums or by leaving us a message at 888-866-9010.  Plus, make sure you rate the episode at the bottom of this entry.

Arne Starr went from graduating from a division of Pratt Institute in NY to working as an artist both in NY and CT, then got into his long time love, the comic book world, working his way over to DC Comics where he worked on most of the DC characters at some point or another and became the longest running artist on the Star Trek books, starting with the original Next Generation. (Eventually he worked at Marvel on the Spider-Man books as well.)

That in turn got him involved with the online world, Genie, where he eventually ran the Science Fiction Media Roundtable, which covered Star Trek and the brand new (at the time) Babylon 5, and began his many years of appearances at Star Trek and Sci-Fi conventions as the Hollywood gossip guy with the goodies and the trailers. Working there with many of the actors of those sci-fi shows eventually got him invited with the late Mark Lenard’s Masters Acting class, followed by many years doing stage in CT and in FL.

Finally he made it to Hollywood a few short years ago, but has managed to work in many genre movies such as Spider-Man 3, Iron Man 1 and 2 and of course, Star Trek. On TV, he has appeared on many shows in the background and sometimes in the foreground.  He appeared as a regular on series like Mad Men, as the (typecast) artist; on Grey’s Anatomy as the attending physician appropriately named Arne; on NCIS: Los Angeles as the Tailor; and most recently he got to play the Court Sketch Artist on the new David Tennant pilot, Rex Is Not Your Lawyer.

Arne still works on his art on shows as well having done a couple of pieces for Medium that were used on the air, as well as a set of caricatures done for the show Greek.

Ethan Parker is a co-host and creator of the Gamer's Haven Podcast (http://www.canadiancrusaders.com).  He just turned thirty years old and laments on a daily basis that the original Tim Burton Batman movie is now over 20 years old.  He is currently living in Kansas City studying to become a vile, bottom-dwelling lawyer.  He works for the University News (http://www.unews.com), the weekly newspaper published by the University of Missouri Kansas City, as their Online Editor.  While he's not busy with school, he can usually be found running a variety of tabletop RPGs including Dungeons & Dragons and Deadlands: Reloaded.  Currently, his time has been consumed with organizing the KantCon local gaming convention in Kansas City.
