I will be posting links for the podcasts Andrea and I talked about later today.

*diabolical laughter*

Actually, I was just going to put up the link to Sextette on amazon.com, but they only have the DVD available through sellers who are charging a bundle for it.  I bought it back when it was less than $10.  And yes, *I* think it's worth owning, but I have to admit that I am part of a very small and exclusive club.  To see if this is the kind of film that you would love (or love to laugh at), I'm going to direct you to the review that I read several years ago which convinced me that I just HAD to see this film.  Ken Begg's Jabootu site has since migrated from jabootu.com to jabootu.net, but I'm giving you guys the link to the old site so you can experience this review the way that I first did.  Enjoy!!!

And here's a little something to help you get over Andrea's ambush.  Wow!  Who would think that Flash Gordon could help you get over Sextette?

Podcasting Stuff

Andrea K Lipinski's picture

Okay, John is busy editing our next episode right now, so he's asked me to post the links for the podcasts, podcast directories, podcasting books, and other podcasting STUFF that we talked about on this review episode.  So here we go ...

Audio recording software:

Audacity - The free audio recording and editing software used by members of The Chronic Rift to record our reviews.  Go check out the wahwah effect!!!

Podcasting Books:

Podcast Solutions:The Complete Guide to Audio and Video Podcasting, 2nd Edition by Michael Geoghegan and Dan Klass

Podcasting For Dummies by Tee Morris, et al

Podcast Directories:

Podcast Alley

Podcast Pickle

Podcasts that *I'm* no longer listening to, but which you may enjoy:

Grape Radio - This was the wine talk show that I said was too highbrow for me.  But it's an award-winning podcast, so what do I know?

Verge of the Fringe - I've stopped listening to this one since we recorded our review episode.  I tried it for a while, but I just didn't feel like I was getting it.  I can't give you a more coherent explanation, I'm afraid.  Sometimes people are just on different wavelengths, or something.

Podcasts we're still enjoying:

The Adam Carolla Podcast

The Bitterest Pill

The Hollywood Podcast

Keith and the Girl

Podcast Academy - John listens to this one more than I do.  I find some episodes more valuable than others.

Reel Reviews - One of those "infrequently updated" ones I mentioned.  As in REALLY infrequently.  The reviews are cool, though.

Podcasting For Dummies - I haven't tried this one yet, but John finds it helpful.

And finally, a podcast that I started listening to (and watching!) after reading Podcast Solutions but which I didn't get to mention because I was running out of time:

The Radio Adventures of Dr. Floyd - Educational AND adorable!  Hooray for Dr. Steve!  Hooray for Fidgert!  Woo-Hoo!!!

Not a Whole Lot

NickelNDime's picture

Not a whole lot I'd recommend from this past year. Are you guys going to be totally narsacistic again and allow the Rift and Keith to be nominated?

Maybe I'm just dull as dirt...

CaptainPatch's picture

...but John, I thought you mentioned opening nominations for the roundtable awards?  Am I missing them or did I misconstrue?

Nope

You're not dull as dirt.  I'm slow as shinola.  I've placed the awards nomination story on the front page.
